The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on Sunday in Long Row, where the victim was reportedly slashed in the chest.
He has since been hospitalized with serious injuries, although authorities do not believe these injuries are life-threatening.
Police investigations indicate that an altercation occurred outside the store involving a group of young people before the stabbing took place.
The suspect is believed to have fled the scene toward Market Square.
Detective Inspector Paul Shortt described the event as alarming for bystanders and confirmed that a dedicated team of detectives is working on the investigation, leading to the identification of the suspect.
Witnesses are urged to come forward as police continue to gather information regarding the incident.
In response to the events, a spokesperson for Primark stated that the Nottingham store would remain closed until further notice.
They expressed their thoughts for the victim and highlighted their commitment to supporting employees who were present during the incident while assuring cooperation with the police investigation.
In a separate but related incident earlier this week, three men have been charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man, Jason Junior Romeo, in Hackney, East London.
The incident involved an altercation on Bodney Road, during which Mr. Romeo was fatally stabbed.
The accused individuals, Raynolph Asante, Travis Mitchell, and Rhamyah Bailey-Edwards, will appear before the Thames Magistrates’ Court.
Scotland Yard has detained another suspect, an 18-year-old man, on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
Community members have expressed their shock regarding the violence in Hackney, noting that it has experienced a number of high-profile attacks recently.
Mr. Romeo was remembered by acquaintances as a non-troublesome person, with some describing him as a 'good guy' and a close friend.
A growing concern about youth violence and safety is palpable in these communities as authorities address the ongoing investigations.
