The malfunction caused widespread delivery cancellations, and many voiced their dissatisfaction on social media, describing the situation as chaotic and criticizing the lack of updates from Tesco.

The company apologized, stating that by mid-afternoon deliveries had resumed. However, customers were unhappy about the scant communication while they awaited deliveries that never came. Peak reports of issues appeared on Downdetector at 09:00.

Shoppers like Mark shared their disappointment online, mentioning early mornings wasted waiting for deliveries that were abruptly canceled without clear explanation. Housebound customers also experienced last-minute cancellations, despite prior confirmations that their orders were on the way.

The inefficiency was highlighted by difficulties in contacting customer service and by delayed notifications of the canceled orders, some occurring only minutes before the expected delivery time.

Some customers didn't learn of the cancellations until hours after their delivery window had passed, leaving them stranded, as in the case of one mother who urgently needed diapers.

Tesco's representative expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the outage and assured that the issue was resolved by their technical team.

Affected customers were contacted directly with apologies and instructions to rebook their orders. Despite this, some shoppers still struggled to find new delivery slots.
