Fariba Vancor sentenced for illegal dumping of toxic waste across country
Fariba Vancor, known as Sweden's 'Queen of Trash,' has been sentenced to six years in prison for orchestrating the illegal dumping of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of toxic waste at 19 sites nationwide.
As the former CEO of waste management firm Think Pink, Vancor was convicted of 19 serious environmental crimes.
The court compared the company's operations to a pyramid scheme and ordered the main defendants to pay substantial damages for the environmental harm caused.
