Members of the public successfully disarm suspect in a knife attack incident on a Dover street.
A 47-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after members of the public intervened in a knife attack in Dover.
The incident took place on Biggin Street, a thoroughfare in the Kent seaside town, at 10.10pm on Friday, January 18.
The victim of the attack, a woman in her 50s, was injured during the incident.
Kent Police have confirmed that she was attacked while walking along the street.
Security staff from a nearby pub managed to disarm and detain the suspect, who was unknown to the victim, until police arrived.
A spokesman from Kent Police stated that the victim was treated in hospital for injuries to her back and has since been discharged.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Bev Morrison expressed appreciation for the swift actions of the public, stating that they intervened without concern for their own safety to assist in the situation.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault, and the suspect is currently being questioned.
