Summer Sizzle BVI capitalising on relaxed protocols for July event

With summer around the corner, the heat has already started to be felt; however, things are expected to get much hotter in the Virgin Islands in July when the annual Summer Sizzle BVI is held under the theme ‘A Fashion, Lifestyle and Wellness Retreat’.

The spectacular fashion event, one of the most high-profiled in the Caribbean, returns this year for its 12th Anniversary from July 21 through 26, 2021.

“As the BVI reopens its ports and reduces quarantine limitations, there is an amazing opportunity to attract visitors to our shores this summer. We look forward to this long-awaited release, and know it will provide a top-notch, one of a kind event and cultural exploration,” a press release from Founder and Executive Producer of Summer Sizzle BVI, Terry T. Donovan.

According to the release, Summer Sizzle BVI is committed to hosting its global and fashion lifestyle event with the primary goal of keeping all guests, residents, employees, participants safe.

“We have been working diligently with BVI officials, as informed by the CDC, to establish health and safety protocols for all guests who enters the event venues.”

The spectacular fashion event Summer Sizzle BVI, one of the most high-profiled in the Caribbean, returns this year for its 12th Anniversary from July 21 through 26, 2021.


Sergio Hudson to headline runway show


The highlight of Summer Sizzle BVI, the epic Global Glamour Runway Show, will be headlined by Sergio Hudson.

Sergio made headlines worldwide when former first lady Michelle L. R. Obama walked down the steps of the United States Capitol on Inauguration Day, dressed in those perfectly tailored burgundy pants and waist-hugging belt by Sergio Hudson, a moment in fashion history was marked.

And the Hudson magic didn’t stop there: On the very same evening, the USA’s first female vice president Kamala D. Harris wore a custom sequined dress and sharp coat, also by the Los Angeles–based designer.

The designer line up also includes Sai Sankoh, Jaer Caban, Don Murphy, Khangle VN, Yumi Katsura, Andrew Nowell, Cesar Galindo, Baby Phat, Aqua Couture by Roger Gary, Carlton Jones Collection, Nikini Resort Wear, Xanadu Luxury Resort Wear joined by VI brands – Trèfle Designs by Kristin C. Frazer and Islander Swim Collection.

“Summer Sizzle BVI events are carefully curated with the culture, style, and beauty of the British Virgin Islands in mind”, Donovan said.

“We are always excited to welcome event visitors to our shores, and we encourage them to indulge in the beauty of nature, the creatively charged atmosphere, and the breathtaking vistas that are a source of endless inspiration for editorial and promoting shoot locations,” Donovan added.

Debut collection by Kristin C. Fraser & others


This year, along with her Trèfle collection, Kristin C. Frazer will debut the exciting results of her collaboration with artists Roma Osowo and Alexia Penn presented in a capsule resort collection printed with their work, and inclusive of one stand-alone art piece each.

The British Virgin Islands offers the perfect getaway to relax, relate, and release, after living through a year of the COVID19 pandemic.
