Approximately 100 passengers sustained injuries during a safety maneuver when the ship suddenly veered to the left to counter rough seas. Most of the injuries were minor, but five individuals were taken to the hospital after the ship docked in Portsmouth.

Some passengers reported fearing for their lives, with crew members crying and passengers in states of fear. The ship was en route to the Canary Islands but decided to return to the UK early due to worsening weather conditions. It encountered the storm in the Bay of Biscay, known for its rough seas.

The ship's safety system triggered the sudden maneuver, resulting in most injuries. Passengers were instructed to stay in their cabins for an extended period until the weather improved.

Despite the ordeal, passengers praised the staff for their handling of the situation. The ship sustained limited damage, and the cruise company, Saga, emphasized that it remained safe throughout the incident.
