Spaceport Cornwall CEO Melissa Quinn Departs for Role at Leading Space Sector Research Platform

Melissa Quinn, CEO of Spaceport Cornwall, is leaving to become general manager of Seradata, a leading space sector research platform owned by Slingshot Aerospace.

Quinn's departure follows the failure of the inaugural mission by Virgin Orbit, which was seen as a setback for the UK's space industry.

However, data to be released this week is expected to show that the industry delivered a multibillion-pound boost to the UK economy last year.

Quinn's appointment at Seradata will replace Tim Fuller, who has run the company since 2013.

Seradata tracks every launch dating back to Sputnik in 1957 and was acquired by Slingshot last year.

Quinn's appointment is seen as a valuable addition to the company's mission to expand Seradata's capabilities and broaden Slingshot's global reach.
