Lesser than a day since the announcement, numerous aspiring voyagers have inquired about bookings.

SpaceVIP has enlisted Rasmus Munk, a top Danish chef from the Michelin-starred Alchemist, to craft an exclusive menu for the pioneering six-hour excursion in a high-tech space balloon, launching next year.

The experience will elevate six guests to an altitude of 30 kilometers to witness the sunrise against the earth's curvature, all while being able to share the moment live via onboard wifi.

Although the culinary specifics are still under wraps, Munk, aged 32 and whose restaurant Alchemist placed fifth in the World's Best 50 Restaurants for 2023, aims for a menu as cutting-edge as the journey, playing with ideas such as aerogel-inspired dishes and encapsulated scents.

Despite the steep price, interest exceeds available space, but Munk, who will also take part, anticipates more missions and reduced costs in the future to broaden access.

SpaceVIP's founder, Roman Chiporukha, has received an overwhelming response, expecting the limited six seats to fill within weeks. Utilizing a space balloon by Space Perspectives, this venture demands no special training or equipment for travelers.

The balloon, a NASA-inspired innovation, contrasts with the traditional rocket launch, and trial flights are slated to commence soon.

SpaceVIP is not alone in space culinary ventures; Zephalto, a France-based firm, also plans to serve stratospheric balloon meals starting at $132,000 in 2025.
