A popular pizza takeaway in Morden, South London, called Pizza Roma, was temporarily shut down by hygiene inspectors after they discovered severe hygiene issues.
Inspectors found cockroaches in pizza boxes, dead cockroaches on food wrapping, and rat droppings in the staff toilet during an inspection on October 2. The contamination was extensive, posing an imminent risk to public health, leading to a temporary closure.
The takeaway will remain closed until health concerns are addressed. Prior to closure, Pizza Roma had received mixed online reviews, with some customers complaining about food quality. The takeaway provided no comment when approached by authorities.
