The meeting included discussions on a new trade agreement and a $1.16 billion investment in South Korean wind farms by Corio Generation and BP. Yoon is pursuing stronger ties with global partners to address world challenges and update an existing FTA from 2011. Sunak underscored the strong cultural, economic, and security ties between the two nations.

Sunak's office emphasized the accord's role in enhancing bilateral relations, including trade and tech engagement. They also tackled security issues, foreign policy, and clean energy collaboration. Yoon advocated for British cooperation in semiconductors to prevent supply chain disruptions and met with British opposition leader Keir Starmer as well.

During Yoon's state visit, which included royal ceremonies and a state banquet, the UK celebrated Korean culture, recognising K-pop's impact with Britain's military band playing K-pop hits and King Charles awarding BLACKPINK with honorary medals, commending their environmental advocacy.

Concurrently, South Korea has suspended a portion of a 2018 military pact with North Korea, increasing military surveillance after the North launched a spy satellite against US warnings.
