The company's chief executive, David Hinton, stated in a letter to customers that the rise in working from home has increased drinking water demand in commuter towns by around 20% over a short period, testing the existing infrastructure.

The company is asking customers to be mindful of their water use and to continue to use water wisely over the coming weekend.
