South African Beauty Queen Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria

Chidimma Adetshina, previously a Miss South Africa contestant, faced nationality backlash but was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria in Lagos. She will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition in November.
A former Miss South Africa contestant, Chidimma Adetshina, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria in Lagos after facing a nationality controversy.

Born to a Nigerian father in South Africa, the 23-year-old withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to backlash and safety concerns.

Despite the xenophobic attacks, Nigerian contest organizers invited her to participate, offering her a chance to represent her father's native land.

Adetshina expressed her gratitude and pride after winning and announced she will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition in November.
