Slack Co-Founder's Missing Teen Found with Adult Friend, 26-Year-Old Arrested for Kidnapping

Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield's 16-year-old daughter Mint Butterfield was found in San Francisco with a 26-year-old man named Christopher "Kio" Dizefalo.

Both were reportedly "voluntarily" missing from Bolinas.

Dizefalo has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and other violations.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office refers to him as an "adult friend." Mint uses they/them pronouns and was found with Dizefalo inside a van in the Tenderloin District.

A person, whose identity was not disclosed, was held on a $50,000 bail after running away with a teenager from Bolinas.

The teenager, who was reported missing from their family's Marin County residence, has since reunited with their family.

The Flickr Co-founders, Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield, expressed gratitude towards the police and investigators for their efforts in recovering the teenager.

The family also thanked those who provided tips and the seasoned law enforcement officers for their understanding of the threat posed by predators who use drugs to groom teenagers.

A teenager was last seen near her home in Bolinas, California, around 10 pm on April 21.

She was reported missing by her mother on Monday, April 22, at 8:30 am.

The area where she was last seen, the Tenderloin neighborhood in San Francisco, is known for its high crime rate and large homeless population.

The neighborhood has gained notoriety for being the epicenter of the fentanyl issue in California, which is part of the larger opioid crisis in the US.
