The CBI is facing a sexual misconduct scandal and has lost support from government and corporate members.

The Siemens-coordinated letter acknowledges the CBI's failings and says the organization needs to recognize the necessary change and repair its culture.

The letter also states that a refocused and effective CBI is essential for the UK economy and businesses during a time of economic uncertainty.

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is facing dissatisfaction from its corporate members over the reform document it has presented.

The document is seen as lacking a financial or strategic plan for the future of the CBI.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, the UK's largest accountancy firm, will not be voting in the upcoming ballot due to apathy.

The board of the CBI has reportedly drafted in lawyers to prepare for the possibility of an insolvency filing.

The upcoming extraordinary general meeting (EGM) will take place on a "one member, one vote" basis, with the CBI requiring a majority of votes cast in favour of a resolution expressing confidence in its ability to continue.

The new director-general, Rain Newton-Smith, has urged members to participate in the vote and has warned that without a mandate, the CBI has no future.

Siemens and Microsoft have declined to comment, while the CBI has been contacted for further information.
