Ahmedshah Naizi, a 20-year-old man with no fixed address, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple offenses, including rape, suffocation, actual bodily harm, assault, coercive and controlling behavior.

Naizi subjected his victim to horrifying abuse, which included four counts of rape, strangling her unconscious, and causing physical harm when she attempted to escape.

He exercised control over her by restricting her access to medication and controlling her finances. Despite the victim being too terrified to give evidence in court, detectives secured Naizi's conviction through digital and medical evidence, including videos that revealed the extent of the abuse.

The victim also suffered a miscarriage, but Naizi refused to let her see a doctor. The case underscores the challenges and sensitivity involved in dealing with victims of abusive relationships. Detectives encourage those facing such situations to seek help from specially trained officers and law enforcement.
