Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor of the United Kingdom, has admitted to "inadvertent mistakes" in her new book, "The Women Who Made Modern Economics."
The Financial Times reported that several paragraphs in the book were lifted from other sources without proper attribution. Material from Wikipedia, The Guardian, and comments made by Labour MP Hilary Benn were included without acknowledgment.
The publisher, Basic Books, defended Reeves, stating that she did not present the material as original research but acknowledged that some factual sentences were not properly referenced. The errors will be rectified in future reprints of the book.
