CCTV footage shows him in the nearby village of Pedi around 20 minutes later holding an umbrella.
A search operation, involving helicopters, drones, and divers, resumes Saturday after being halted on Friday evening.
His phone was found at his accommodation, and his family has flown in to assist.
Symi, part of Greece's Dodecanese islands, reported a population of about 2,600 in the last census.
Local authorities are intensifying efforts to find Mosley, with all patrol and private boats called in to help.
