Scotland Faces Another Wildfire Crisis as Blaze Erupts Near Auchnahillin Holiday Park
A wildfire has broken out near the Auchnahillin Holiday Park in Daviot, Highlands, Scotland on the hottest day of the year.
Six fire engines and crews were deployed to tackle the blaze.
The fire is about 30 miles from Cannich, where a recent wildfire caused extensive damage to an RSPB Scotland nature reserve.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had warned of a "very high" risk of wildfire this weekend.
Local residents have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke, and Meallmore care home is monitoring the situation closely.
The SFRS alert for wildfire risk covers most of Scotland, with parts of the Highlands, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Borders expected to reach "extreme" risk.
