Saudi Arabia sees this as a positive step for international responsibility and emphasizes the need to end military actions and hold occupying forces accountable for violating legal and humanitarian norms.

The resolution was adopted by the UN Security Council, with 12 countries in favor, led by Malta, while the US, the UK, and Russia abstained. It calls for urgent humanitarian measures, the release of hostages, and compliance with international law, especially regarding civilian protection.

The resolution highlights the importance of providing essential services and humanitarian assistance to Gaza's civilian population in accordance with international humanitarian law. It stresses the need for coordination and mechanisms to protect medical and humanitarian personnel, vehicles, and critical infrastructure.

Additionally, the resolution assigns Secretary-General Antonio Guterres the task of reporting on its implementation at the next Security Council meeting on the Middle East situation.
