London Mayor Sadiq Khan has been urged to take stronger action to address the ongoing performance issues plaguing the Elizabeth line, with disruptions occurring every weekday in the past week.
Critics have called on Khan to push Transport for London (TfL) to prioritize resolving problems with overhead power lines and signaling equipment. TfL has apologized for the disruptions and is conducting an urgent review of recent incidents.
However, work to install new overhead power lines is not expected to begin until next year. The Elizabeth line has faced significant delays and reliability issues since its opening in May 2022.
