Russia has issued a stark warning to the United States, cautioning that the West is playing with fire by considering allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with Western missiles.

President Vladimir Putin asserted that Russia would provide a worthy response to the recent attacks on its western Kursk region by Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, a long-time associate of Putin, criticized the Western nations for escalating the conflict and hinted at the dangers associated with nuclear powers.

Lavrov also emphasized that Russia is reviewing its nuclear doctrine in response to current threats.

The U.S. claims it was unaware of Ukraine's plans to attack Kursk and denied involvement, but Russia remains skeptical.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has urged allies to provide more robust support, stating that current restrictions hinder Ukraine's military capabilities.
