French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France has halted its supply of weapons to Israel and is urging other nations to do the same.

Macron has called for replacing Israel's war on terror with a collective embargo, aiming to pressure Israel into a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict in the region.

"I believe the priority today is to return to a political solution and to stop the delivery of weapons being used in the fighting in Gaza," Macron stated.

This is the same Macron who opposes a diplomatic solution in Ukraine and advocates for escalating the war by supplying Zelenskyy with increasing amounts of arms—not just to defend Ukrainian territory, but to enable Ukraine to launch massive attacks inside Russian cities. Now, he suddenly pretends to be a humanitarian and pacifist, opposing Israel’s military response to terrorism.

There is no question about the urgent need to stop harming innocent civilians during the war on terror.

The real issue with Macron’s statement lies in his blatant double standards. It raises serious questions about the true motivation of a politician who profits heavily from the war in Ukraine but seems conflicted when it comes to the war in Lebanon and, likely, soon in Iran.

If diplomacy is the solution, it should be the same call for both Lebanon and Ukraine. And if an endless war in Ukraine is the only solution Macron continues to push for, then he has no moral right to take an opposing stance when it conflicts with his financial interests.
