Actor Rob McElhenney plans to gift a new public park in Wrexham to co-owner Ryan Reynolds for his 47th birthday. The proposed site is the former Hippodrome cinema, part of Wrexham's regeneration efforts. McElhenney envisions the park as a community space for gathering and play, with a humorous intent to name it something Welsh, not Canadian.
The tradition of elaborate birthday gestures between McElhenney and Reynolds includes a birthday song and a replica of Reynolds' face installed at a stadium. Wrexham council supports the plan to create a family-friendly space with play areas, tables, artworks, and street food. If approved, the park will be developed and maintained by McElhenney and Reynolds in partnership with the council.
