The Aslef train drivers' union has also announced an almost week-long overtime ban in early July in a pay row.
The RMT has scheduled further strikes for the following dates: Thursday 20 July, Saturday 22 July, and Saturday 29 July.
The Aslef members at 16 rail operators will refuse to work overtime during the same period.
The strikes are due to a dispute over pay, jobs, and conditions.
The affected train lines include Avanti West Coast, C2C, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Great Anglia, and Greater Western Railway.
It is recommended that passengers check the status of their journeys before travelling and be prepared for changes and cancellations.
The Rail, Maritime, and Transport (RMT) union has announced new strike dates for rail workers in the UK.
Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), the country's biggest railway franchise, will be affected by the strike and has announced an amended timetable with fewer services running between July 3rd and July 8th.
Services will be busier than usual, and Gatwick Express services will not run.
Other railway operators such as LNER, Northern Trains, Southeastern, South Western Railway and TransPennine Express are reviewing the strike dates and assessing the impact on their services.
Some operators have announced they will run a limited service or amended timetable during the strike days.
Customers are advised to allow extra time for their journey and check their schedules before traveling.
