Rikkiya Braithwaite Departs For Miss World

Miss World BVI Rikkiya Braithwaite departed the Territory yesterday, November 18 to represent the British Virgin Islands at the 69th edition of the Miss World pageant that will take place in London, United Kingdom on December 14.
Rikkiya received best wishes and farewell encouragement from her sister titleholder Miss British Virgin Islands 2019 Bria Smith, who was part of the gathering at the airport to see Miss World off. The farewell group also included Yadali Thomas-Santos, and Mr. World 2018/2020 Temulji Hughes.

A major highlight of Rikkiya's stint in London will be the Miss World Charity Auction where Queens from the over 100 participating countries will be presenting a special gift from their country to be auctioned in aid of underserved communities and children around the world.

In ensuring that the BVI contributes to the worthwhile initiative, the Anegada Beach Club, which offers choice luxury accommodation gifted a $7,500 luxury vacation package to the Miss World BVI organization as an auction item for the charity event.

This package for two will enable lucky bidders to experience the charm of the British Virgin Islands, while they relax at Anegada's newest and best in accommodations.

The vacation package includes seven luxurious nights; VIP transfer via Anegada Express Ferry; Beachfront Palapa Retreat, arrival champagne in room, breakfast for two daily; one dinner for two at the lobster trap and two spa treatments by Touch of the Caribbean.

Rikkiya was on hand to accept the donation from the Anegada Beach Club on November 12 and expressed her appreciation to the Management and Staff of the property for their willingness to support this initiative. Further, Rikkiya stated that she is excited for that lucky person who will win the bid for this vacation of a lifetime.

Chairman of Miss World BVI Damion Grange, expressed his gratitude to the Anegada Beach Club for being so generous in support of Beauty With A Purpose and indicated that partnerships like these help to further promote and showoff the amazing experiences the BVI has to offer.
