Alexandra Gregory, a children's cancer nurse from Redditch, has been given a suspended prison sentence for faking a pregnancy during lockdown. Gregory sent her ex-partner, Daniel Smith, fake pregnancy scans and photos of a baby in intensive care.

She pleaded guilty to sending malicious communications between August 2020 and February 2021. The court heard that Gregory and Smith had a short relationship that ended amicably in July 2020.

However, she later sent him a photo of a positive pregnancy test, leading to a series of false communications about her pregnancy. Gregory was sentenced to a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, along with a mental health treatment plan and community service. She was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation to Mr. Smith and received a three-year restraining order.
