In a speech at the Peterson Institute in Washington DC, Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor of the UK's Labour Party, outlined a mission to ensure economic security across the UK by rebuilding its "industrial foundation".
This will involve investing in sectors and technologies that will determine the country's future economic success, and aligning the party with the economic policy of the US President
Joe Biden.
Ms Reeves also praised the US President's INFLATION REDUCTION ACT and suggested that the current Brexit deal would be reviewed under a Labour government by 2025 if it wins power at the next election.
She also proposed a "securonomics" strategy that would involve a bigger role for the government in running the free-market economy and fostering new partnerships with international allies.
