Before his procedure, he visited the Princess of Wales, Catherine, who also underwent abdominal surgery at the same hospital and is recuperating there. Though she was successful in her surgery, according to Kensington Palace, she will take a few months off from royal engagements.
Camilla spent three hours with Charles on Saturday afternoon after his procedure.
The King, at 75, underwent the planned treatment in London, traveling there from Sandringham the day before.
An enlarged prostate is common and non-cancerous in men over 50, per the NHS. The King's treatment does not necessitate any temporary transfer of his sovereign duties.
The Palace shared Charles' condition to encourage men to get prostate exams. The announcement led to an increase in related searches on the NHS website, a trend praised by medical professionals and charities.
The King is gratefully acknowledging the outpouring of public support.
Queen Camilla, who initially joined him at the London hospital, reassured hospital staff upon her departure that the King was doing well. She returned for a 90-minute visit later that same day.
