The Queen also enthusiastically participated in lighting the Christmas tree with the help of a toddler, praising the hospice staff for their exceptional service.
Her patronage of the Children's Hospice South West since 2014 marked this as her first visit to Charlton Farm, which supports nearly 200 families through difficult times.
Later, the Queen celebrated the 25th anniversary of Emmaus Bristol, a charity supporting the homeless with housing and jobs. During her visit, she cut a cake with a ceremonial sword and toured the facility, reflecting on the charity’s challenges and future growth. She left a gift of chocolates and received dog bowls for her pets, marking a warm exchange with the community she has supported as Patron since 2006.
