Putin Describes Gaza Situation as 'Catastrophe' Unlike Anything in Ukraine

During a Moscow press conference, President Vladimir Putin termed the Gaza situation a "catastrophe" far worse than the conflict in Ukraine.

As Russia's military campaign in Ukraine nears its second anniversary, Putin highlighted clear differences between the two situations, despite maintaining relations with both Hamas and Israel.

The ongoing war in Gaza, following Hamas' October 7th attacks on Israel, has devastated the region and resulted in over 18,600 deaths, predominantly women and children.

Meanwhile, since February 2022, Russian forces have struck Ukrainian cities and taken control of territories in the southern and eastern regions after heavy fighting. The UN reports over 10,000 civilian deaths in Ukraine, with actual figures potentially being much higher.
