A promotion offering free pints for every Nottingham Forest goal resulted in nearly 300 free beers being served after a stunning 7-0 win over Brighton.
A promotional offer at the Gedling Inn in Nottinghamshire, which promised a free pint every time Nottingham Forest scored, backfired dramatically after the club's 7-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday.
The pub, which recently began broadcasting Premier League matches, introduced the offer on the day of the game to attract customers.
However, Forest's seven-goal performance led to almost 300 free pints being handed out to patrons.
Landlady Beccy Webster, who has managed the pub for six years, expressed relief when the match ended, stating, 'When the final whistle went, I just said 'phew!'' Despite the unexpected outcome, Webster considered the day a success, with customers enjoying the atmosphere, singing, and continuing to buy drinks and food.
She noted that many people asked if the pub would offer similar promotions in the future, acknowledging that the event helped raise the pub's profile and support for the local team.
