Producer Describes Meghan Markle’s Professional and Relaxed Conduct Behind the Scenes of MasterChef Australia

Crew members say the Duchess of Sussex was approachable, focused, and easy to work with during her guest judge appearance on the cooking show
Meghan Markle’s appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia has drawn renewed attention to her conduct behind the scenes, with production staff offering a largely positive account of her time on set.

The Duchess of Sussex participated in filming during a recent visit to Australia, joining the programme in a limited guest role alongside the show’s established judging panel.

Her involvement formed part of a broader itinerary that included public and private engagements across the country.

According to accounts attributed to production personnel involved in the series, Markle was described as composed, friendly, and attentive throughout filming.

One producer, responding to behind-the-scenes inquiries from colleagues, said she “was so nice to all the crew, had a good sense of humour, and was just a normal human,” noting that her small accompanying team kept the working environment low-key and efficient.

The same production account suggested that Markle engaged directly with the judging process, with staff stating she performed confidently in her role.

She was described as “really good at judging,” with feedback indicating her commentary on dishes was concise and direct compared with the programme’s regular judging style.

Other members of the MasterChef production team echoed similar impressions, highlighting a smooth filming process and an absence of disruption on set.

Her presence, they suggested, was handled in a professional manner consistent with the show’s established production rhythm, which routinely accommodates high-profile guest appearances.

Her participation also aligned with her broader interest in food-related media projects and public-facing creative work, an area she has previously explored through television appearances and lifestyle-focused ventures.

While her appearance generated public discussion and commentary, particularly given her international profile, those working directly on production emphasised that day-to-day filming remained steady and collaborative, with no indication of difficulties during the shoot.

The episode is set to form part of the programme’s latest season, which continues to feature a mix of amateur contestants and guest contributors from the culinary and entertainment sectors, underscoring the show’s ongoing strategy of blending competitive cooking with high-profile cultural figures.
