On Wednesday, a significant gathering of pro-Ukraine supporters took place outside the US embassy in London, as demonstrators voiced their disapproval of former President Donald Trump's recent actions regarding Ukraine.

The protest, organized by the Ukraine Solidarity Campaign in collaboration with various Ukrainian organizations, attracted approximately 200 participants who were seen adorned in Ukrainian flags and holding placards with messages such as 'turncoat Trump.

Now we must rejoin the EU,' 'TrumPutin what an ugly cowardly team,' and 'occupation is not peace.

Justice for Ukraine.'

Among the various banners displayed, one notably referred to Trump as a 'KGB agent' with a fictitious code name, highlighting the geopolitical tension perceived by some activists.

Independent Member of Parliament John McDonnell addressed the crowd, condemning Trump’s treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and calling on the UK government to assertively respond to the US. He expressed outrage over Trump's perceived humiliation of Zelensky during a recent meeting, stressing the importance of support for Ukraine amid ongoing conflict.

McDonnell criticized Trump’s abrupt cessation of military aid, suggesting it jeopardized lives and stability in the region.

Moreover, McDonnell emphasized that the protest was a message to both American policymakers and Trump himself, advocating for a peace agreement that prioritizes Ukrainian sovereignty and resources.

This demonstration followed a recent contentious meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the White House.

During a Congressional address, Trump mentioned he had received a letter from Zelensky indicating Ukraine's readiness to proceed with a minerals agreement with the US. This statement comes in the wake of escalating tensions regarding military support and diplomatic engagement, with Zelensky asserting the necessity to rectify the relationship between Ukraine and the US after the fractious discussions in the Oval Office.
