Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Join Royal Family at Sandringham Christmas Service

Beatrice and Eugenie attend the traditional UK royal Christmas Day church service as their father remains absent following loss of titles
On Christmas Day 2025, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie attended the British royal family’s traditional church service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, joining King Charles III, Queen Camilla and senior members of the monarchy for one of the year’s most enduring public rituals.

The sisters, daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — formerly Prince Andrew — were photographed walking with their husbands as part of the procession along the private estate, even as their father was absent from the festivities.

The gathering drew hundreds of well-wishers who cheered the royals as they made the short walk on a bright winter’s morning.

The appearance of Beatrice and Eugenie at the Christmas service comes after King Charles removed all of their father’s royal titles and honours in October amid sustained scrutiny of his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew, now known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was not present at the Sandringham celebrations and is understood to be spending the holiday privately at Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle, preparing to relocate to a property elsewhere on the estate.

Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, also did not attend the traditional service.

Beatrice, aged thirty-seven, and Eugenie, aged thirty-five, were accompanied by their spouses, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank respectively, reinforcing their continuing place within the extended royal family despite the controversy surrounding their father.

Other senior figures at the service included the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and Princess Anne with her husband.

Following the church service, the royal family was expected to reconvene at Sandringham House for Christmas lunch and the King’s annual televised address.

The presence of Beatrice and Eugenie at the Sandringham event emphasised their ongoing engagement with key family traditions and duties even as the monarchy navigates a turbulent period marked by health challenges for the King and wider public interest in the institution’s direction.

Their attendance mirrored earlier appearances together at the King’s pre-Christmas festive lunch in London and followed their recent public support for charitable and family events during the holiday season, underscoring their roles within the modern royal firm.
