Prime Minister Andy Burnham Pledges Tougher Action on Small Boat Crossings
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has outlined a new border strategy centred on stronger enforcement against people-smuggling networks while rejecting calls to replicate Spain's mass deportation approach in Ceuta. Speaking during a visit to Dover, Burnham said National Crime Agency resources would be expanded alongside the development of safe refugee routes as Channel crossings have exceeded 2,000 since he took office in July.
