Premier League Clubs to Vote on Proposal to Boost Funding for Grassroots Football

Premier League clubs have been asked to vote on a proposal to provide additional funding to the wider game.

14 June 2023 · 23:11 UTC

The proposal is for an existing £100m fund for grassroots, community, and other football projects to be increased to as much as £133m, subject to future increases in Premier League revenue.

The funding will be allocated to the Premier League Stadium Fund, the Football Foundation, the National League, and girls' football.

Clubs have until 5pm on Thursday to register their vote, and the ballot will take place after the Premier League's annual shareholder meeting.

The vote comes as the league continues to review its Owners' and Directors' Test and has unanimously agreed to amend the test to prohibit fully-leveraged buyouts.
