Pregnant Cow Rescued from Rutland Pool
Listen
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue successfully extracts cow from swimming pool
A pregnant cow's unexpected plunge into a swimming pool in Ketton, Rutland, led to a successful rescue on Monday.
Ian Blackburn was alerted to the peculiar scene by his neighbor, Andy the farmer, during a phone call.
Upon discovering the cow in his pool, Blackburn contacted Leicestershire Fire and Rescue for assistance.
Firefighters drained the pool and utilized a harness to safely lift the cow out.
The cow, along with her calf, was declared 'fit and well' by a veterinarian before being returned home.
