Portugal Joins Wave of Nations Recognizing Palestine

Lisbon follows London, Ottawa, and Canberra in backing statehood.
Portugal has joined the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada in formally recognizing a Palestinian state, amplifying international momentum behind the two-state solution.

Portuguese officials stressed that the move was aimed at supporting peace negotiations and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Observers note that the step could inspire additional European nations to follow suit.
