Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tánaiste Micheál Martin were among the politicians and relatives who attended the ceremony.

Varadkar and Martin jointly laid a wreath and observed a minute's silence to honor the victims of the violence.

Approximately 2,000 people died in the 11-month conflict, including notable figures such as Michael Collins.
