Police Review Campaign Material of Tory Candidate Robert Largan
Police are reviewing Conservative MP Robert Largan's campaign materials after complaints they misleadingly present him as a Labour candidate. Largan's controversial posts include 'Labour for Largan' and 'Reform for Robert' slogans. The Electoral Commission states it oversees the proper identification of campaign materials but does not regulate their content.

Largan posted an image on X with his face over a red background and the slogan 'Labour for Largan,' leading to allegations of election fraud.
The material had a faint Tory oak silhouette and a legal disclaimer indicating it was for High Peak Conservatives in Derbyshire.
Largan also posted a similarly styled advert with the slogan 'Reform for Robert' in Reform UK's colors.
His homepage does not mention his party leader, and promotes 'Vote Local.
Vote Largan' in green.
The controversy arises as Largan defends his marginal seat won by a mere 590 votes in 2019.
The Electoral Commission clarified that while they ensure campaign materials identify their promoters, they do not regulate content style.
Largan's opponent, Labour candidate Jon Pearce, criticized him, and some social media users called for action against such misleading tactics.
