Police Officer in Porthmadog, Wales Suspended After Video Emerges of Alleged Police Brutality
A police officer in Porthmadog, Wales has been served with a gross misconduct notice and suspended by North Wales Police after a video emerged showing him apparently punching a man in the head nine times.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is also investigating a second officer's alleged conduct related to the level of care given to the man after his arrest.
The incident occurred on May 10th when police were called to a disturbance at a property and found the man in the garden of a nearby house, arresting him after he appeared to become unwell.
The man was later taken to hospital and released back into police custody.
The IOPC is examining whether the force used by the officer was justifiable, proportionate, and necessary and whether appropriate care was given after the arrest.
