About an hour before Israel’s airstrikes on Iran kicked off, a viral account called the “Pentagon Pizza Report” flagged a surge in orders at pizza spots near the Pentagon.
The spike showed unusually high traffic at several local outlets, including Domino’s and District Pizza Palace, around seven pm Eastern—just before explosions were reported in Tehran.
The account also noted a drop in activity outside a nearby bar, suggesting a shift in patterns. Pentagon officials said the surge shouldn’t be seen as a signal of military action, noting plenty of food options inside the building.
