Speaking at the extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Abbas accused Israel of undermining the two-state solution through intensified settlement activities, annexation, ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the Gaza blockade, and violating sanctities.
Abbas emphasized Gaza's integral role in the Palestinian state and called for a comprehensive political solution covering the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza. He advocated for full membership of the State of Palestine in the UN, an international peace conference, and international protection for Palestinians.
The solution he proposed is based on international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, ending Israeli occupation, with East Jerusalem as the capital, and resolving Palestinian refugees' issues as per UN Resolution 194.
The Palestinian president appealed for international support for Palestinian institutions and the reconstruction of Gaza. He held Israeli authorities and their supporters responsible for the conflict and pledged to pursue legal actions against them.
Abbas particularly called on the United States to use its influence to end the Israeli occupation. He concluded by emphasizing the global responsibility to address the injustice against Palestinians and affirmed their determination in their struggle.
