Passengers on P&O Cruises' Ventura ship have been reporting stomach bug issues for weeks, despite enhanced sanitation protocols. Illnesses were reported on multiple trips, with passengers criticizing the company's handling of the situation. P&O Cruises claims they are following approved sanitation measures and isolating affected individuals.
The P&O Cruises ship Ventura has been experiencing ongoing issues with a stomach bug for weeks, according to passengers.
The ship embarked on a two-week cruise from Southampton to the Canary Islands on May 11, and enhanced sanitation protocols were enacted due to several passengers showing gastrointestinal symptoms.
Previous passengers on various trips reported similar issues.
Elaine Bland, who boarded Ventura on May 4, said their embarkation was delayed due to deep cleaning, yet she and her friends still fell ill.
Helen Bradburn, who was informed of the issues before her trip, also reported her daughter got sick and criticized the company's management.
Another passenger, Marie from Nottinghamshire, suffered severe illness and was hospitalized during a cruise in April.
P&O Cruises stated they are following approved sanitation protocols and isolating affected individuals but have not disclosed the number of people unwell.
