One Mart turns 35! Gives thanks in church

Popular shopping centre known for its friendly prices and frequent promotions, One Mart Supermarket is celebrating 35 years of existence in the Virgin Islands.

Businessman and Fourth District Representative Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool and his wife Mrs Judith E. Vanterpool, along with some of the supermarket's staff, celebrated the milestone at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre in Baughers Bay on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

“We want to say a big thank you very much to all our customers all over the territory. Thank you all for supporting One Mart for the last 35 years,” Honourable Vanterpool said during the service.

$5k donation


Hon Vanterpool also made a $5,000 donation to the church.

“We would also like to present a little token of our appreciation to the New Testament Church of God for being with us over the years,” Hon Vanterpool said.

The One mart staff then led the church in a special rendition of “I give you thanks.”

Evolution of One Mart


One Mart Supermarket is the flagship store of K-Mark’s Foods 1996 Ltd. The company has been making sure fresh fruits and vegetables are available consistently to the [British] Virgin Islands since 1986. Over the years the business evolved from a small mom and pop store called 'Fruit & Vegetable Basket', selling only produce, to a full supermarket with extended departments for home goods, appliances and furniture.

The business, located at Purcell Easte, was founded by Mark and Judith Vanterpool and their family and is now a leading foodservice provider for hotels, restaurants, yacht provisioning and groceries.

Another One Mart store is being built in East End.

One Mart Supermarket in Purcell Estate is also known as the 'People Store'.

Although business has evolved to meet the needs of everyone, One Mart prides itself in making sure fresh fruits and vegetables are available consistently to the [British] Virgin Islands since 1986.
