One person has died, and four others are missing after two cargo ships collided off the coast of Germany in the North Sea. The British-flagged Verity, carrying steel from Germany to the UK, sank after the collision, with two crew members rescued.
The incident occurred near the German archipelago of Heligoland. The collision took place between the Verity and the Bahamian Polesie, with the latter's 22 crew members unharmed. Rescue efforts, including divers searching the shipwreck on the sea floor, are ongoing. The cause of the collision remains unclear.
