Transport for London (TfL) has reached a deal with train operators to retain the one-day Travelcard, a popular ticket used by visitors to London. The Travelcard offers unlimited travel on the Tube and London bus network for a day.
Initially, Mayor Sadiq Khan had begun the process of withdrawing from the Travelcard agreement, but faced opposition from transport campaigners and local authorities who argued it was a valuable tool to attract visitors to London using public transport.
While the Travelcard will be retained, its cost will increase by a one-off levy of around three percent in March, in addition to the annual fare increase, to help cover the cost of the new deal.
