Comedian Omid Djalili canceling a performance at the Festival Drayton Centre in Market Drayton, Shropshire, due to "personal threats" related to the situation in Israel. The venue cited these threats as the reason for the cancellation, and they will be issuing refunds to ticket holders.
Omid Djalili, who was born in London to Iranian parents, was scheduled to perform in the "Omid Djalili and Friends" show in Market Drayton before touring Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Despite the cancellation, there have been no reports of concerns from West Mercia Police regarding the performance in Shropshire. The cancellation comes amid heightened tensions in the region following recent events involving the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel.
