Actor Noel Clarke is suing The Guardian for £10 million in a High Court libel battle, claiming that he was wrongly labeled a "sexual predator" in a trial by media that ruined his showbiz career. Clarke alleges that eight articles in the newspaper had a "catastrophic" impact on his career.
The articles accused him of sexual misconduct and bullying by 20 women. Clarke denies any wrongdoing and says he lost significant earnings and reputation as a result of the articles.
The Guardian stands by its reporting and is defending the case. The High Court is currently hearing arguments on the meaning of the allegations in the articles.
