The incident occurred as Farage was leaving the Moon & Starfish pub, part of the JD Wetherspoon chain, to head to the Reform UK campaign bus.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault, and a man was also detained for allegedly assaulting an emergency worker.
Both remain in custody.
Farage made light of the incident, later posing with milkshakes in Jaywick.
Despite stating he wouldn't run in the general election, Farage announced his candidacy for the Essex seat, which historically elected a UKIP MP in 2014.
The Conservative majority in Clacton was 24,702 in 2019 when Giles Watling was re-elected.
Farage aims to put Clacton on the map, pledging to stand up and fight for the constituency.
Other candidates include Labour's Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, Green Party's Natasha Osben, and Liberal Democrat Matthew Bensilum.
